Crave on Apple TV: What to Expect
Apple TV is one of the smoothest platforms for streaming Crave, thanks to tight integration with tvOS and support for features like Siri search and the Apple TV app's universal watch list. Whether you have a 4th generation Apple TV, Apple TV HD, or the latest Apple TV 4K, the activation process is essentially the same.
Compatible Apple TV Models
- Apple TV (4th generation)
- Apple TV HD
- Apple TV 4K (1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation)
Older Apple TV models (1st–3rd generation) do not support the Crave app via the App Store.
Step 1: Download the Crave App from the App Store
- From the Apple TV home screen, open the App Store.
- Press the Search tab and type "Crave" using the on-screen keyboard or by using your voice with Siri.
- Select the Crave app (published by Bell Media) from the results.
- Click Get to download and install the app. It will appear on your home screen once complete.
Step 2: Open Crave and Initiate Sign-In
- Launch the Crave app from your Apple TV home screen.
- On the welcome screen, select Sign In.
- You'll be presented with options — choose Sign In on a Website or Use Activation Code.
- An activation code will be displayed on your screen alongside the instruction to visit crave.ca/activate.
Step 3: Activate at crave.ca/activate
- On your iPhone, iPad, or computer, open Safari or any browser.
- Navigate to crave.ca/activate.
- Sign in to your Crave account using your email and password.
- Enter the activation code shown on your Apple TV screen. Be sure to enter it quickly — codes expire within 10–15 minutes.
- Tap or click Activate.
- Your Apple TV should update automatically within a few seconds — you'll be logged in and ready to stream.
Pro Tip: Sign In Faster with an Apple Device
If you're using an iPhone or iPad, you can use the Remote app (built into Control Centre on iOS) as a keyboard for your Apple TV — making it much easier to type in your credentials if you choose the email/password sign-in route instead of the code method.
Using Siri to Search Crave on Apple TV
Once activated, you can use Siri on your Apple TV remote to search for content directly:
- Hold the microphone button on the Siri Remote and say: "Find Succession on Crave" or "Open Crave."
- Siri can also search across multiple apps at once, suggesting where a title is available.
Managing Crave in the Apple TV App
The Apple TV app's Up Next feature can track your Crave viewing alongside content from other services. To enable this:
- Open the Apple TV app on your Apple TV.
- Go to Settings > Apps and make sure Crave is toggled on under connected apps.
Troubleshooting Apple TV Activation
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Crave app not found in App Store | Ensure your Apple TV's region/country is set to Canada |
| Activation code expired | Go back in the Crave app to regenerate a new code |
| Screen stays on "Activating…" forever | Force-close the app, restart Apple TV, and try again |
| Playback errors after activation | Check your internet speed and restart your router |
Signing Out or Switching Accounts
To sign out of Crave on Apple TV, open the app, go to Settings within the app, and select Sign Out. You can then activate a different account using the same code method.
